Ryan Kerr joins Warriors Strength & Conditioning Team and Elite-15s as Assistant Coach

The West Van Warriors have hired former WHL player Ryan Kerr to join their strength & conditioning team as well as the Elite-15 team as a head coach. Ryan will join academy director Yashar Farmanara with the Elite-15s in their second year of the program. The team went 18-11-1 in their first year in the CSSHL.

Ryan played 221 games in the Western Hockey League after being drafted 1st overall by the Prince George Cougars in 2004. He finished his junior career with the Spruce Grove Saints of the AJHL before attending York University, where he transitioned from a player to a strength & conditioning coach with the Varsity Lions.

Ryan has coached at various levels, and most recently started his own off-ice development business, RK4 Development. Ryan does both on-ice and off-ice training for athletes at various levels during the season and in the off-season.

“Ryan has a unique skill set that makes him an asset to any athletic program. He has experience in some of the world’s best development leagues. The CIS is one of the most underappreciated leagues in North America, and Ryan’s experience at York both as a player and as a strength coach will prove invaluable to our players”, said academy founder Nathan Fischer.
